Catherine Kaiser
Catherine (also known as Ms. Katy) comes to the Grandes class with 28 years of classroom teaching experience. With an education in Early Childhood Development along with a teaching diploma from Montessori Northwest school in Portland OR, Katy is filled with a wealth of knowledge that will help support the development of each child in her classroom.
In 2005, she helped start the Early Childhood Program at this school with Joanne Aversa, and left to pursue her Montessori training in 2012. After being in the Montessori world for a few years, she realized her love for the Reggio philosophy as well, and found her way back to RGS in 2019. This will be her 15th year all together at RGS.
She came to this career early on in her adult life because of her deep love for children and human development. She understands that the brain is rapidly developing when children are young, and wants to provide every possible opportunity for them to fully develop a solid foundation for learning and growing.
In her spare time, Katy loves being outdoors. She particularly enjoys mountain biking, hiking, yoga and camping.
