Co-Curriculars
Rio Grande School was founded on the belief that authentic learning must reflect the interconnected nature of the real world, requiring intentional integration across disciplines. The school’s founders referred to this as an integrated arts approach to learning—a philosophy that remains central to our mission today.
Over time, this approach has expanded beyond the arts to include science, physical education, adventure, library, and Spanish, evolving into what we now call interdisciplinary learning. This remains a core tenet of a Rio Grande education, ensuring that students make meaningful connections across subjects, think critically, and engage deeply with their learning.
