Rio Grande School Annual Fund ~ 2024-2025

The Annual Fund is key to supporting many aspects of a Rio Grande School education. This year, we invite you to direct your donation to an area that matters most to your family. Your priorities help shape your children’s education, and every contribution counts—your participation is what truly matters.

This year's Annual Fund Ask will span just one week between November 14th and 22nd.

1. Curiosity
Arts Programming & Outdoor Experiences
Allocation: $50,000
Rio Grande School demonstrates its dedication to the arts through an annual theater production, a winter concert, and a curriculum that seamlessly integrates these special events. This commitment to the performing arts is primarily supported by contributions to the Annual Fund.

Our beautiful campus and the surrounding natural environment are vital to the Rio Grande School curriculum. Opportunities to connect with nature, including on-campus adventures, educational outings, day trips to Glorieta, and overnight camping experiences for upper-grade students, all contribute to the distinctive Rio Grande School experience.

The Annual Fund is essential for ensuring these valuable arts programs and outdoor activities receive adequate funding.

2. Possibilities
Academic Support & Professional Development
Allocation: $65,000

Thanks to the Annual Fund, Rio Grande School can continue to invest in the professional development of our faculty and staff through various initiatives. These include literacy-based phonics instruction (SEE method), diversity, equity, and inclusion training (Roots Connected), and a new innovative math curriculum(Carnegie Learning). These examples illustrate how the Annual Fund enables us to prioritize our students’ growth and development.

The Annual Fund is vital in supporting literacy and math specialists who collaborate with lead educators to ensure consistent, ongoing student support. Additionally, contributions to the Annual Fund have helped secure the appointment of a school counselor, who helps nurture students’ social and emotional development.

3. Community
Teachers, Classrooms & Campus Security
Allocation: $50,000

At Rio Grande, our educators and staff consistently go above and beyond, and the Annual Fund is essential in supporting a stipend program that recognizes and rewards their additional efforts.

With a strong Annual Fund, we enhance classroom budgets, ensuring our classrooms are highly functional and well-resourced learning environments.

Additionally, campus safety and aesthetics are integral to the Rio Grande School experience. Well-maintained security systems, buildings, and landscapes not only ensure safety but also enhance the visual appeal of our campus. The Annual Fund enables us to implement necessary improvements and maintain our facilities and grounds with care.

4. Dream
Catching All the Drops
Allocation: $35,000+

The Annual Fund is essential for bridging the gap between costs and revenue. With the "Catching All the Drops" designation, contributions are directed to critical areas, helping us to manage enrollment fluctuations, changing tuition assistance* needs, and unexpected challenges.
*The annual benefit concert is the main fundraising event for tuition assistance.
