Laurie Kornely

Laurie has always been working with children and became an EC teacher in 2002 in San Francisco, California. She hasn't looked back and continues to share her love of teaching.

She moved to Santa Fe right in the middle of COVID in 2020, working at various schools and the Children's Museum where she implemented an online camp during a shelter in place. She made her way to RGS in the fall of 2022 as an Assistant Educator and has been enjoying every moment. Her background is in small private schools where community is key.

Laurie has a BFA in Crafts with an emphasis in Textiles, as well as an Associates in Early Childhood Education. Her hands and creative spirit are always busy. She enjoys sharing her craft with children. When she is not at RGS, you can find her knitting, stitching, painting/drawing, gardening, cooking, hiking, roller skating or hanging out with her husband, Brigham, and their dog, Honey. (Spooky, the cat, usually does his own thing.)
